The Golden State Warriors and New Orleans Pelicans are getting ready to square off today in what could be a game with big playoff implications. While New Orleans has been eliminated from playoff contention, they have the chance to play spoiler down the stretch of the season.

Golden State is battling for its playoff lives entering this game, putting all the pressure on them to win. Coming into this game, the Warriors hold a record of 41-31 on the year.
The team sits in the No. 7 spot of the Western Conference standings, fighting for playoff positioning. Golden State has seen itself drop a few games in a row, mainly due to star guard Stephen Curry being out with injury.

Curry suffered a hard fall a few games ago and has been out since. But he saw his injury status be upgraded for this game.
The star guard was listed as questionable for this game against the Pelicans and will make his return to the court.

Getting Curry back in the mix is crucial for the Warriors, especially with the postseason quickly approaching. Curry is the engine that runs the Warriors’ offensive attack, so they desperately have missed him on the floor.
As for the Pelicans, they come in with some injuries of their own. The most notable name on the injury report was star forward Zion Williamson.

Williamson has missed a significant amount of time this season and will again do so. The forward was ruled out of this contest against the Warriors, giving Golden State a potential opportunity against an already lowly Pelicans squad.
Even with their poor season, the Pelicans have fought down the stretch. If they can grab a few games and spoil the playoff seeding for teams, they will gladly take it.
New Orleans has talent, but injuries completely derailed their entire season. But this game gives them the chance to make a statement against a strong Warriors club.
