It’s hard to believe that “Full House” debuted nearly 40 years ago! Jodie Sweetin reminded us just how much time has passed with a series of throwback photos of her and her co-stars via the Instagram account for “How Rude, Tanneritos!” — a podcast Sweetin and fellow “Full House” actor Andrea Barber (Kimmy Gibbler on the show) have hosted together since July 2023.
In the photos, Sweetin, who played Stephanie Tanner on “Full House” from 1987 to 1995, is seen sharing big hugs with the late Bob Saget, who played her dad Danny Tanner; John Stamos, who played her Uncle Jesse; and Dave Coulier, who played family friend-turned-Uncle Joey.
Turns out, the adorable photos were captured during a Christmas party in 1987, aka season 1 of “Full House.” Sweetin was just shy of six years old at the time.
The caption read: “Throwing it back to the Full House season 1 Christmas party with Jodie & the guys 🎄🥰 Fun fact: Jeff Franklin bought Jodie her very first bike at this time!!”
Will There Be a ‘Full House’ Reunion?
Two months after Saget’s death in January 2022, Sweetin, Stamos, Coulier and Candace Cameron Bure, who played DJ Tanner, reunited at 90s Con in Daytona, Florida, where they discussed their forever bond.
“We’re so close, that whenever and wherever we get together it’s like a family reunion,” Coulier told E! News. “We’ve been through everything together—births, deaths, marriages, divorces, our shows being picked up and cancelled. We’re a real family on and off camera.”
During an April 2022 appearance on “The Tamron Hall Show,” Coulier entertained the idea of a “Full House” reunion in the near future.
“We talk all the time how much we would love to do a show again, we just love working and we love our fans so much and we love the whole process. We just love what the show is and what it means to people. We’re always raring to go. Hey, ABC, come on, let’s do another one,” Coulier said at the time.
“What I would love to do is bring in all the original cast back, where we are older now and we talk about our lives, and we can reflect and tell stories about Danny Tanner and keep his character alive, because he’s very much alive in spirit with all of us. We miss him dearly.”
He added, “I think we’d all be up to working together again, for sure.”
At the 2024 Scleroderma Research Foundation’s “Cool Comedy – Hot Cuisine” (founded by Saget in 1987), Sweetin co-signed the idea, telling the New York Post, “I’ve learned in this business never say never.”
She added, “I’m totally down for it. I’ve been saying we need to do the ‘Golden Girls Fullest House.’”
‘Full House’ Cast Supports Dave Coulier Amid Cancer Diagnosis
In November 2024, Coulier went public with his “very aggressive” form of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma diagnosis. That same month, Coulier opened in an interview with People up about how he knew something was off when lymph nodes swelled up to the size of a golf ball.
“Three days later, my doctors called me back and they said, ‘We wish we had better news for you, but you have non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and it’s called B cell and it’s very aggressive,’” he said. “I went from, I got a little bit of a head cold to I have cancer, and it was pretty overwhelming. … This has been a really fast roller coaster ride of a journey.”
Also, in November, Stamos shared a series of photos of him and Coulier, vowing to be there for him.
“My brother from day 1,” he wrote. “Love you @dcoulier and I’ll be by your side through it all.”
